Salaam Alaikum
We are pleased to share with our members that Stanmore Jafferys has been successful in securing community places for London Marathon on Sunday 27 April 2025.
A limited number of community places are offered by London Marathon Events as part of their commitment to supporting ethnically diverse communities access running opportunities from grassroots to mass participation events.
Securing these spaces is testament to the growth of running at Stanmore Jafferys since its inception and the hard work by all volunteers during their period.
In anticipation of community spots being offered, SJ invited members to submit an expression of interest.
27 applications were received (4 ladies and 23 gents) and applicants were scored by a selection panel in 6 categories ranging from their running track record, participation in previous running events and representation of SJ. The selection panel was made up of 4 running coordinators from across the club and the process was overseen by respective representatives from the SJ EC.
At this point we are delighted to share that the following individuals have been offered and accepted a place at London Marathon 2025, to be held on Sunday 27 April 2025.
