Marhaba – A Festival of Sport: Rackets

Marhaba, Marhaba, Marhaba!
What a ride!
This time we had 380 participants (100 more than last year!), 50 volunteers and over 150 spectators on site. It was THE BIGGEST Festival of Sport to date!
As we reflect on a weekend which saw over 1000 incredible games and multiple communities from across the country coming together in the spirit of sisterhood; we are truly humbled by the feedback we have received.
We would like to say a huge thank you to:
• Our event partner, CoEJ who have been with us every step of the way in planning and executing this event
• Our charity partner WF Aid and our parent Jamaat KSIMC of London (Hujjat Stanmore) for their support in our events past present and future
• Aldenham School and their management team and caretakers for enabling us once again to hold Marhaba here and helping us to manage logistics throughout the weekend
• All of our sponsors, donors and well wishers without whom we would not be able to hold an event of such magnitude
• Our volunteers and coordinators who have worked so, so hard to help make this festival the success it was. To the catering team, the umpires, the runners, the marshals, score desk and registration desk volunteers, we are truly grateful for your dedication, hard work and selflessness. Without you there would be no Marhaba
• ALL participants, especially those who attended from our neighbouring Jamaats – we hope you had a fantastic time, and we were honoured to able to host you once again this year
• The AV team led by Shahidali Khaki; they gave up their Friday evening to help us prepare for the event and were on hand for any technical difficulties
• The Head of Gents Sports, Shaneabbas Merali, and his team of gents volunteers who have helped us tirelessly and without hesitation in the set up, clean up and in the car park (no easy task we assure you!)
