5K Walk & Breakfast
Lie-ins are usually justified on Saturday mornings but this was an initiative to start your weekend right!
SJ Ladies Running met up for a 5k walk on Saturday 20th November 2021, at 8am. The walk was followed by a delicious breakfast at the Holiday Inn in Watford.
It can be difficult to get out of bed especially in the Autumn/Winter months but this gave us a great reason to! The fresh air in the morning and hearing the birds sing was so refreshing and peaceful.
What made it even more special was that we were joined by Mumtaz Raffiq (aka Taz) all the way from Mombasa. Taz helps run initiatives in her jamaat and has always made a point to take part in SJ Running events along with other ladies in Mombasa, even if it be virtually. She has taken part in the January Challenge, March Teams Challenge, Virtual Half Marathon, 10k AAWA walk/run, and that’s only in 2021!
As we walked the distance, we spoke, laughed and embodied sisterhood which is what Stanmore Jafferys stands for. We look forward to more of these events in the future!
