Dear members,

We are opening the year in the search of a new Head of Ladies Sports who will in turn, build a team to take the club forward in 2023 and beyond!

We urge you to please consider the role and let us know of your interest by 31st January so that there is enough time for a smooth transition to take place

Watch our current Head’s address below

Dear SJ members,

Salaamun Alaikum

2023 marks the start of my 5th year at the helm of SJ. Having taken over the leadership at the start of 2019, the last 4 years on the ladies side has seen our membership double, our sports offering grow from 5 to 11 sports, launch of popular initiatives for Ladies Senior Citizens, great performances in countless tournaments and the continuation of the Marhaba Festivals and introduction of the AAWA Sportives. Most importantly, we have taken the successful and long awaited step of transitioning to a CIO which places the club in great stead for years to come.

My thanks go to Hujjat, all of the EC teams, coordinators, volunteers and members that are pivotal to us achieving so much in such a short space of time.

The purpose of this video is to let you all know that as I embark on a new chapter away from London, the coming months will be my final ones with SJ. Therefore, we are opening this year in search of new leadership to take the club forward and continue to provide our much-loved activities to the community.

We are looking for a passionate, organised, enthusiastic individual to take on the role of Head of Ladies Sports and as such, I urge you to please consider the role and come forward by 31st January 2023 to enable a smooth transition over the next few months with minimal disruption to the provision of ladies and girls sports. You can approach myself or any member of the EC team or any of our coordinators with your interest which is needed for SJ Ladies to continue. (Email: chairlady@jafferys.org)

As always, a huge thank you to YOU the members for your participation in our activities and your endless support and love for the club. I can honestly say that this has been the most wonderful, rewarding and humbling experience and something I would encourage you all to get involved with.

Thank you.

Sabiha Chagpar – Trustee & Head of Ladies Sports
