The strategic decision made last year to enter the Watford Netball League as a more competitive team was vindicated as our ladies have started the season with 2 out of 3 wins!
The first game of the season saw SJ thrash their opponents – Weststars – going on to win 27-11. The second game was a nail biter with the last quarter seeing the lead swing back and forth between SJ and our opponents Bushey Ballers (who finished in 3rd place last season). On this occasion, SJ came out on top through a last gasp winner with the final score being 18-17 after a thrilling 4 quarters.
We went into our third game in high spirits as we topped the table with 2 out 2 wins from our first two fixtures. Unfortunately, the opponents – Watford Wasps – were a strong well drilled team and despite fighting hard, Wasps stormed to a 27-12 victory.
The ladies are in the process of sorting out additional coaching sessions for the squad which will insha Allah result in more wins throughout the season .
