SJ Secures Club Space
On this auspicious occasion of the birth of the Awaited Saviour (a.t.f.s), Stanmore Jafferys (SJ) and The World Federation (WF) are pleased to announce an agreement whereby SJ will have full and exclusive use of the 2nd Floor of WF House at Hujjat Harefield as a dedicated Club Space.
The first of its kind for any Jamaat sports club in Europe, the venue offers an opportunity for SJ to build both a sports and social base for the community. Whilst work will need to be undertaken to make the facility fit for SJ’s vision, plans already include developing the space for a fantastically equipped table tennis academy and fitness studio, to allow sessions for boxercise, pilates, yoga and much more for both ladies and gents. The venue also provides a space for our community’s growing need for versatile hire through exclusive use of the facility.
The agreement has only been possible due to the willingness of our partners WF and The KSIMC of London, to work collaboratively together for our community.
Shaneabbas Merali (Head of Gents Sports and Trustee of SJ) and Aiman Poptani (Head of Ladies Sports and Trustee of SJ said “This is a significant milestone in SJ History and a unique opportunity for SJ to have a much needed base where many of our sporting activities can take place under one roof. It also presents opportunities to use the space for social sporting activities such as live match streaming, carrom, pool and foosball. SJ now have a club house to call its own!”
Talking about the agreement, The WF Vice President, Dr Munir Datoo and The WF Secretary General, Arifali Hirji said, “We are delighted in jointly creating this once in a generation capacity building initiative. Sporting activities for the various strata of the community, ladies, gents, seniors and youth – all enjoy sports and wellbeing, especially when being able to conduct this within Islamic tenets. We envisage that this facility will be a cornerstone for SJ growth and indeed a template for community engagement on multiple levels: Jamaat, Regional – CoEJ as well as the global arena. We are honoured to be part of this initiative.”
Sibtain Allibhai, President of The KSIMC of London said, “On behalf of The KSIMC of London, we are very pleased to have been able to help Stanmore Jafferys secure their own sports club facilities at Hujjat Harefield. This is another milestone in delivering our vision for a Hujjat Village. Members of the community will most certainly benefit from this for years to come. I would like to thank The World Federation for its ongoing support for the vision for Hujjat Harefield, and in particular accommodating SJ at the WF House. I wish all the success to SJ on their very own Club House.”
Work will need to be undertaken to convert the existing facility into use. SJ looks forward to sharing more details about the facility in due course.
