On a sweltering August bank holiday weekend, 197 SJ Ladies & Girls made the trip up to Birmingham to take part in MAMT 2019. The tournament overall boasted 486 participants in what was the biggest Ladies MAMT tournament in recent times. The standard of play across all sports hit new heights showing how far Ladies sports has come in our community.
All 5 sports were hotly contested in both the girls and ladies categories with all courts and pitches filled with the sound of cheering as all players motivated each other to bring home the wins!
SJ excelled in every sport and gained numerous awards. But the bigger win was the outstanding akhlaq of each and every player throughout the weekend. Win or lose, the sportsmanship and camaraderie shown by girls and ladies alike was second to none and something that we are truly proud of. A massive congratulations to all SJ teams and players for representing our community so magnificently.

As you can see, the number of trophies we brought back home is phenomenal. This is a credit to the players and their parents. However; it could not be possible without our sports coordinators who work tirelessly every week to organise training sessions to allow our players to get to this standard and coordinating the MAMT entries.
A sincere thank you also to umpires and volunteers from all Jamaats, to the COEJ MAMT Team and to Al Najiyaat (Birmingham Ladies Sports Team) for organising an excellent weekend and the warm hospitality.
